 1. History: Finish Romulus and Remus Timeline. Students listened to the story of Romulus and Remus in class. Then, they began placing each important part of the story into a timeline. Their timeline should be drawn with detail, coloured, and have the description written below each frame.

I received some Spelling Tests with parent signatures today, and some without. Please remember to sign your child's Spelling Test when they take it home on Friday, and bring it back to the classroom on Monday.

Tuesday September 9, 2025

Students spent the morning doing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) with Ms. I. They did prayer, read scripture, reviewed the rules of CGS, and started making their name tags. They also drew pictures that show grace and courtesy.

During this time, Ms. Delfin called on students one by one to do the DIBELs assessment for reading. Ms. Delfin will record the students' scores and share their results with parents during Goal Setting Conferences on October 9 to 10.

Homework:

1. Recite the "Love is patient, love is kind" poem to parents!

2. Sing a song to parents: Down by the Bay, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Getting to Know You!

2. Continue practice spelling words.

Note: Students who have unfinished in-class assignments will put their assignments straight into their backpacks.

2. Reading UFLI: Spelling Tests Words for this Friday:

Please help students spell out these words aloud and write them down neatly on paper for 10-15 minutes a day. Play with dice to make spelling practice interactive! :)

3. Comfort Kits are due this Friday, Sept 12.

The Grade 2's had their first Nature Walk & Sketch today! We focused on drawing "slowly and with care." We also make this rule with our handwriting: to write "slowly and with care." Please use this phrase to remind your child to take their time and not rush their work! :)

Friday Sept 5, 2025: Comfort Kits and School Supplies

Blessed Feast Day of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta!

A reminder that comfort kits were sent home today. Please follow the instructions on the pink sheet and bring back the completed kit to the classroom ASAP.

We will gradually begin our full lessons next week. Please have supplies ready. The list can be found on our class website.

A couple students still need to complete their "Summer Activity" worksheet. Please make they write at least 3 sentences with a coloured picture.

Tuesday Sept 2, 2025: Labeling School Supplies

 
Dear Parents,

Please label your child’s school supplies according to the picture above. Important notes:

• The blue pocketed folder should have only your child’s name (no subject label).
• Pencils, erasers, highlighters, and other small items do not need to be labeled.
• Once all supplies are labeled, kindly return all supplies to school ASAP. Our class will organize everything together.
